Built-in Q&A

Visitors ask questions inside the room, often pinned to a mark they drew, and your team answers from the Inbox.

Questions are the heartbeat of diligence. Docshark rooms carry a real Q&A flow. No side email threads, no lost context.

How visitors ask

  • Ask appears on every file and inside the reader. The visitor types a question and sends.
  • Pinned questions. Visitors can draw a mark on the page and attach the question to it. You see what they were looking at, not just what they wrote.
  • Questions attach to the file (and the mark) they came from. No "see page 14 of the third PDF" archaeology.

Where questions land

Every question across every room lands in your workspace Inbox. The same queue that holds signature work needing attention. A room's own Q&A tab shows just that room's stream.

Answering

  1. Open the question from the Inbox or the room's Q&A tab.
  2. Read it in context. The file and the mark open alongside.
  3. Answer. Write a reply; the visitor is notified and sees it in the room.
  4. Assign it to a teammate when the answer belongs to them.
  5. Questions move Open → Answered; nothing stays ambiguous.

What the room keeps

  • Every question with its asker (verified or claimed), timestamp, file, and mark.
  • The answer thread. Question and reply stay together.
  • Q&A activity in room analytics and the audit trail. Who asked what, and when it was answered.

Why it matters in a deal

In diligence, the questions are the signal. What bidders probe is what they care about. Pinned questions make the signal precise: "they circled the revenue-recognition note on page 9" is worth more than "they asked about revenue."
