Uploading and the Library

Getting documents in. Drag-and-drop, Google Drive import, resumable uploads, scopes, and document details.

Every document in Docshark lives in the library. Get files in four ways:

Upload paths

  • Drag and drop. Onto the library or any drop zone; multiple files at once.
  • Browse. The file picker, single or multi-select.
  • Google Drive import. Connect Drive and pull files straight in; the connector lives under integrations.
  • File requests. Files others send you through requests land here too.

Accepted types

PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), and images. For signing, Word and Excel convert to PDF automatically. The original stays in the library alongside the converted copy.

Large files

Big uploads go through a resumable chunked pipeline. The file uploads in pieces, so a dropped connection or a closed laptop resumes instead of restarting. Upload progress shows per file; a failed chunk retries, it does not kill the upload.

Scopes: personal vs team

  • My library. Visible only to you; the right place for drafts and sensitive files not yet for the team.
  • Team library. Visible to workspace members; shared collateral, standard contracts, anything the org reuses.

Move files between scopes when their audience changes. A finished document graduates from personal to team; sharing it via link or room never moves it.

Document details

Each file's detail view shows its name, size, type, upload date, and owner. Plus the things built on it: its share links, the rooms containing it, envelopes using it. Rename files freely; the display name is what viewers see on links and in rooms.

Deleting

Deleting a document removes it and its share links. Rooms referencing it lose the item, envelopes already sent keep their sealed copies. Deletion frees your document quota immediately.
